I know, I know, it might sound confusing when you read that out loud. But, trust me on this. GO with me on this. MEET me here. When you do ONE thing, and one thing only, you give yourself the power of focus, concentration, full attention. What the TECH giants like Google, Facebook and IBM know. What RETAIL, and EDUCATION, and MILITARY and more communities know is that when you want to get something done you have to engage your focus. In this podcast, I’ll teach you how.

At the end of the day, one day last week, I had 171 unread items in my inbox. My iPhone needed a software OS update AND there were 37 apps that needed updating.

Oh, and Jodi called to tell me “the Internet went down” at the office; and finally, that new digital camera I ordered is on the way to my house. (It’s an early holiday gift I got myself!) We’re surrounded by – and often at the whim of – technology. Listen in as I share a few of tech from the perspective of being as productive as you WANT to be without losing time, energy and focus.

In this episode, you’ll learn…

  • What tools and systems Jason relies on to get things done.
  • Technology isn’t the problem; the way you use it is.
  • If you want to get more done, use your gear better.
  • My notebook is the tool I use to ___________.
  • Let me watch you do THIS, and I’ll get you back an hour a day!

Have you ever been ashamed of how much you have?

Do you play it on the “down-low” how much more you want?

A teacher I’ve learned a LOT from was Peter Drucker. Mind you, I never met him. But, I am mentored by his protege Ms. Frances Hesselbein.

Recently, I read this quote he wrote: “Those who perform love what they’re doing.”

It’s my opinion that you weren’t put here on the planet to ever have time to “do nothing.” No, not for people like you and I. We are here to take action. To move forward. To make things happen.

The whole reason you’d listen to a podcast called Your Best Just Got Better is, in fact, so you can figure out how to do MORE!

In this episode, you’ll learn…

  • Do you know the BEST times to acknowledge someone for a job well done?
  • What “Wanting more” has to do with “Being more.”
  • How to “extinguish” behavior or action you want someone to stop.
  • (Especially if that person is you!)
  • Finally, how to take action and achieve the “More” you want!

Please take an action on this podcast; do leave us a question, an idea, a prompt below, so we know what YOU think.

If it’s time to make new habits, practice new actions, and achieve bigger goals, you need this podcast.

I promise!!

Episode 201 – No More Work-Life Balance. We call it momentum

Is there a project you want to get started you keep putting off?

Are you frustrated that you STILL don’t have work-life balance?

I read recently that Marisa Meyer is really making a statement about the intersection of work-life focus. Writing on her Tumblr, she said: “Since my pregnancy has been healthy and uncomplicated and since this is a unique time in Yahoo’s transformation, I plan to approach the pregnancy and delivery as I did with my son three years ago, taking limited time away and working throughout.”

Would you compare your ability to achieve work-life balance with someone who has a net worth of $380MM? Would you be able to do more, be more and have more if you made nearly $1MM a week?

I wouldn’t. In fact, if you REALLY want to stress yourself out, compare yourself – what you have, where you are, what you do, how you live – to someone who has different goals, different opportunities, and different realities than you. Stop trying to achieve work-life balance. Instead, get momentum on your most important things.

In this episode, you’ll learn…

  • Do you know what Jason and Jodi are working on these days?
  • Motivation is out. Momentum is in.
  • There is one activity you can bring back to your team that will help them.
  • Momentum happens the MOMENT you’re engaged.
  • There are specific things you can do to Get Momentum starting now!

Do they hear what you say?

Do you watch them listen?

The next time you talk with someone, you’ll have a unique opportunity to watch them receive what it is you have to say. There is SO much research out there on communication styles and just how important it is to communicate clearly. What if instead of reading all the research, you simply read the listener.

In this episode, you’ll also learn…

  • Do you know what university Jason is speaking at today?
  • Observing someone will make you a better communicator.
